Super Bowl TV Spots

Super Bowl TV Spots

Super Bowl XLVI is in the books, ladies and gentlemen.   Over the course of the game, though, there were plenty of high-profile TV spots for some of this year's biggest movies.

Some of these, like The Dictator and G.I. Joe: Retaliation, were revealed in full earlier in the week, while others, like The Avengers and John Carter, were teased with oh-so brief ten-second commercials for commercials.

Universal has officially revealed the new Super Bowl TV spot for Peter Berg's Battleship movie online after its debut during the big game. If you were confused about this being another Transformers movie or not, you can watch the trailer in HD here and take a closer look at the weird, oddly-similar alien tech that seems to be attacking our Navy.

The Super Bowl TV spot for Disney’s John Carter offers little in new footage, but it is probably the most ‘epic’ trailer we’ve seen to date. Reaction to the marketing so far has been mixed, but i’m still holding out to see what the director of WALL·E and Finding Nemo has put together.

Marvel has unleashed this Super Bowl TV spot for their forthcoming superhero ensemble flick ‘The Avengers’ – further adding to my fervent excitement for the film! Directed by Joss Whedon, ‘The Avengers’ stars Chris Evans (Captain America/Steve Rogers), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye/Clint Barton), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man/Tony Stark), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow), and Tom Hiddleston (Loki).

The Super Bowl spot for "The Dictator"  doesn’t contain any new footage besides the intro (with a nice nod to NBC), but this will most likely be the first time many people hear about the new pic from Sacha Baron Cohen. Cohen reunites with Borat director Larry Charles for The Dictator, and the film looks to be sufficiently ridiculous. He’s assembled an impressive cast here and I’m excited to see what else Cohen has in store besides gun-infused track races and sex with Megan Fox.

"Star Wars" is being re-released in 3D. They're releasing them in order, so "The Phantom Menace" comes out on Feb. 10.

TV spot for GI Joe: Retaliation revealed more footage of new stars Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis in action.
