How Do You Know

How Do You Know movie synopsis: A listless Reese Witherspoon stars in How Do You Know as the slightly lost romantic lead (“Most girls' plan is to meet a guy, love, have baby, but I don’t know if I have what it takes for everybody’s regular plan”), choosing between recently indicted, bad-luck riddled Paul Rudd and smooth-yet-spacey baseball player Owen Wilson. Rudd seems to have the upper hand (and Jack Nicholson for a father), but who knows, since this is the rare trailer that's probably saving something for later: both because it’s directed by James L. Brooks, who knows his way around a well-balanced triangle (see: Broadcast News), and because Witherspoon is wearing the same ratty, blue sweatshirt in almost all of it — meaning her other outfits, and romantic decisions, are being saved for the actual movie.
